MADRID (Reuters) - Spain's acting Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez urged his opponents to allow him to form a government on Monday, some five months after inconclusive elections that gave him the most votes but insufficient parliamentary seats to take power.
The leader of centre-right party Ciudadanos said earlier he would encourage a fellow right-wing leader to jointly abstain in a vote to give Sanchez a mandate, on certain conditions.
Sanchez reacted by saying that he considered there were no obstacles to his investiture because his plans coincided with what Rivera was asking for, though he did not respond directly to his proposal for a pact.
