New Providence, Bahamas
Reason for this visit
The Bahamas is one of the wealthiest countries in the Caribbean, with a GDP per capita that is second only to the United States and Canada among the 156 countries in the Western Hemisphere. Once a British colony, the Bahamas' stable parliamentary democracy is based on British law. The country does not have much bad press in the foreign exchange market, which makes it fundamentally different from other notorious tax avoidance countries. In addition, the Bahamas' government adheres to the global anti-money laundering guidelines and uniform reporting standards set by the OECD, so companies in the country are also recognized by U.S., U.K. and European financial institutions. In order to help investors or practitioners get a more comprehensive understanding of foreign exchange dealers in Bahamas, the survey team is going to the country for field visits.
On-site visit
This time the survey team visited the dealer TD365 in Bahamas, with the specific address at 3rd Floor, Bayview House, East Bay Street, Nassua, Bahamas.
Based on the above address, the survey team arrived at the destination of this survey, Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, which is located near the North Atlantic Ocean of the United States. This was a yellow building located at the intersection of EAST STREET and BAYS STREET. There were no receptionist or security personnel and the door was also unlocked. Entering the building, the surveyors failed to see any directory in the lobby.
Because there were not many floors, the surveyors searched each floor, but no dealers TD365 could be found on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors. Those offices found with door numbers were mostly some law firms. In the end, the surveyors confirmed that the dealer did not have an office here. In addition, it was learned that the address had been repeatedly registered by a number of forex dealers.
Conclusion
The survey team went to Bahamas, to visit the dealer TD365 and found no office at its business address. It was supposed that the dealer might just use that address to register its company, or there was no offline exhibition place. Please be prudent when trading with this broker.
