Reason for this visit

In view of Cambodia's economic structure that is highly dependent on foreign exchange reserves, it is bound to be highly open to investment, and there is almost zero threshold for foreign capital to enter Cambodia. Cambodia also relies on open policies, sustained economic growth, rapid expansion of domestic production capacity, and continuous improvement of national infrastructure and financial investment regulations, all of which are conducive to its growth as the next "financial center." Recently, investors have called to ask for more exposure of Cambodian licensees whose actual addresses are inconsistent with the regulatory addresses. Based on the feedback from investors and the work plan of the survey team, the survey staff are going to visit PPLS, a licensed dealer in Cambodia, to learn more about the actual situation.

On-site visit

Regulatory information shows that the address of PPLS Cambodian licensed company is Golden Tower, Ground Floor, Office No. 158-166, Street 215, Sangkat Veal Vong, Khan 7Makara, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The investigators conducted a field visit to this location.

The address shown by the trader shows that the building where the office is located is in the busy area of Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. It is the famous Golden Tower. The dealer was not found in the building, there were many other foreign exchange dealers around, and no information about the dealer was found along the street. Plus, several other foreign exchange dealers use this registered address.

Conclusion

The investigators went to Cambodia to visit the dealer PPLS as planned. The dealer’s logo was not found on its publicly displayed business address. The dealer might not have an office operating normally at the business address. Investors are asked to make a sensible choice after careful consideration.
