The Vantage Foundation has officially been launched at the prestigious McLaren Technology Centre by Vantage Markets, marking a unique convergence of motorsport and global advocacy.
The Foundation's core objective is to amplify awareness and advocacy surrounding concealed challenges on a global scale. These often-overlooked issues, such as depression, anxiety, and loneliness, quietly contribute to social immobility and personal struggles.
This non-profit entity was established through the generous proceeds from the auctioning of used Extreme E car bodywork and driver overalls, graciously donated by the NEOM McLaren Extreme E Team.
“Loneliness is a societal challenge that frequently remains unseen, underappreciated, and unacknowledged. The paradox of facing an epidemic of loneliness in an era of hyper-connectivity underscores the pressing need to address this menace to mental and physical well-being,” emphasized Steven Xie, Executive Director of Vantage Foundation (pictured at top, middle).
One of the key collaborators of the Vantage Foundation is the UNHCR, the United Nations Refugee Agency. On World Refugee Day, the Vantage Foundation and UNHCR joined forces to educate communities about the daily hardships experienced by refugees, including the denial of fundamental rights.
Lydia Piddock, Director of Strategy & Growth at UK for UNHCR, expounded, “For refugees, attaining safety is merely the outset; regrettably, many are deprived of their basic rights. Through our partnership with Vantage Foundation, we intend to connect people with the lived experiences of refugees, urging us all to dispel stereotypes and gain deeper insights into the refugee cause. UNHCR operates in 135 countries to protect their rights, and we warmly welcome organizations like Vantage Foundation to help propagate our message.”
In another heartwarming initiative slated for the upcoming holiday season, volunteers will distribute Christmas presents to underprivileged children across six countries worldwide, including Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Nigeria.
Ian James, Managing Director of NEOM McLaren Electric Racing, shared, “Our partnership with Vantage Markets in Extreme E serves to heighten awareness of the repercussions of climate change through sustainable racing. We take immense pride in our role in the launch of The Foundation, which seeks to shed light on other critical global challenges.”
