SEC issues public alert to U.S. firms

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or the Commission is a national government regulatory agency responsible for overseeing the corporate sector, capital market participants, the securities and investment vehicle markets, and protecting the investing public.

SEC proposes a PAUSE Program that lists entities falsely claiming to be registered, licensed, and/or located in the United States in their solicitation of investors. The PAUSE Program also lists entities that impersonate genuine U.S. registered securities firms as well as fictitious regulators, governmental agencies, or international organizations.

This public alert involves unregistered solicitation entities, fictitious regulatory agencies, and companies posing as legitimate companies. These companies confuse and deceive investors, provide trading risks, and disrupt the security order of the US investment market. Investors should be wary of these companies if they appear around you, stay away!
