Reason for this visit

In order to help investors have a more comprehensive understanding of the regulated forex brokers in Cyprus, this time the survey team visited ORBEX, a broker based in Limassol, Cyprus.

 Regulatory information

According to the regulatory information, the broker ORBEX has the MM license issued by CySEC and located at 6, Maximos Michaelides Str, Maximos Plaza, Block 3, 5th Floor, Office 3501, CY-3106 Limassol, Cyprus. The survey team thus decided to have an on-site visit to this regulatory address for confirmation.

In addition, ORBEX also holds an EEA license issued by FCA, and the general financial license issued by Bafin and BDF.   

On-site visit

The survey team followed the regulatory address and arrived at an office building at 6, Maximos Michaelides Str. The building, very grand, is a landmark in this area. Its ground floor is full of famous brand shops. 

The team came to Block 3 and found a logo of ORBEX on the directory, which indicated the broker’s office was in Room 501.    

The team entered the building and saw the logo of ORBEX on the lobby wall, which also indicated that the broker's office was on the 5th floor. 

Later, the team came to the 5th floor, however, there was no logo or any other sign of ORBEX there.

The team found an office and noticed the logo on the door seemed to have been removed, but they did not know whether it was the logo of ORBEX.

 Conclusion

It is confirmed after the survey team’s site visit that ORBEX’s office indeed is located at the regulatory address. However, the broker's office was not found so that the business scale and operation condition of which remained unknown. Please be prudent when trading with this broker.
