Hyderabad's Doctor Lost 11 Cr in Crypto Scam

Sameer Azad Mahendra, a 50-year-old doctor from Hyderabad, India, lost Rs 11 crore to a crypto scam. In August, Dr. Sameer Azad Mahendra was introduced to a cryptocurrency trading platform by someone named Mittal.

Mittal claimed to be a representative of the well-known forex trading firm Webull. He advised the doctor to sign up and trade on the two websites, https://webull.bet and www.webull-vip1.pro.

Initially, the victim (doctor) profited well from Mittal and his daughter, Sakshi Mittal, trading advice. The fraudster told him to change Indian rupees into USDT and deposit them in specific bank accounts owned by the fraudsters. The doctor was excited by the earnings. Therefore, He submitted more money to the specified accounts.

Fraudsters took advantage of the doctor's trust for over three months and acted as representatives of a reputable company. After three months, the doctor realized he had been duped. Then he complained to the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) and took up the probe.
